IAF Arming Su-30 Aircraft With Missile Can Hit Target Of 250 Km

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is arming its Su-30 fighter jet fleet with a new missile that can take down ground-based targets from a distance of more than 250 kilometres.

The new missile can hit targets at distances of more than 250 kilometres, and its addition under an emergency import contract will increase the capability of the planes, top government sources said to a leading house.

The new missile would allow the Indian Air Force to strike enemy military camps and terrorist infrastructure from deep within its territory, as it did during the Balakot operations in 2019.

According to the sources, integrating long-range missiles from indigenous or neutral nations such as Europe or America would be difficult given the global situation.

The IAF is also in the process of upgrading the Su-30s, which will cost more than Rs 30,000 and begin with 85 planes. The IAF has approximately 260 of these heavy air superiority fighter jets, which are now flying in tandem with the force's most modern Rafale fighter planes.
