EndureAir, a company in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology, has successfully delivered its state-of-the-art Sabal 20 Logistics Drone to the Indian Army's Eastern theatre. This marks a significant milestone in enhancing the logistics capabilities of the armed forces operating in remote and rugged terrains, the company said in a statement.
The Sabal 20 is an electric unmanned helicopter based on variable pitch technology, specifically designed for aerial logistics. Capable of carrying payloads of up to 20 kilograms—half its own weight—the Sabal 20 offers scalable options for future operational needs. Inspired by the Chinook helicopter, it features a tandem rotor configuration that enhances load-carrying capacity, stability and high-altitude performance, making it ideal for diverse and challenging environments.
Commenting on the successful delivery, Abhishek, Director and Co-founder of EndureAir, said, “We are honoured to contribute to the Indian Army's modernization efforts. The Sabal 20 reaffirms our commitment to providing indigenous, innovative UAV solutions that empower our armed forces and support their mission-critical needs across diverse environments.”
The Sabal 20 is engineered to meet the rigorous demands of long-range deliveries, high-altitude operations and precision logistics, making it a valuable asset for defence operations in India’s varied terrains.
The company said that the delivery of the Sabal 20 underscores EndureAir’s dedication to India’s defence sector through the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives. By developing cutting-edge UAV technology domestically, EndureAir is fostering self-reliance and advancing India’s position as a global leader in drone manufacturing, it added.
