CRPF Inks Pact With Medhavi Skills University To Enhance Employability For Families Of Personnel

Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU), MSU will provide industry-aligned courses specifically designed for the wards of CRPF personnel

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has inked an agreement with Medhavi Skills University (MSU) to launch customised, skill-based degree and diploma programs tailored to the needs of the children of CRPF personnel. This partnership seeks to honour and empower the families of those who have dedicated their lives to safeguarding India’s security.

Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU), MSU will provide industry-aligned courses specifically designed for the wards of CRPF personnel. These programs, recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), will align with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) and the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF). A primary goal of this collaboration is to enhance the employability of CRPF families through a combination of academic and practical education.

The courses will follow the National Credit Framework (NCrF), allowing students to utilize their academic credits to further their educational or professional aspirations. With a significant focus on practical learning, these new-age programs will incorporate 50 per cent hands-on training with MSU’s industry partners. Eligible candidates for the programs include those with a 10th or 12th-grade qualification or an equivalent certificate recognised by the government.

Following UGC guidelines, the courses will feature two admission cycles each year, with the first round of admissions opening in the July 2024 session.

The MoU was formally signed on 13 August, in Siliguri, by Radha, President of the Regional CRPF Family Welfare Association (CWA), Group Centre (GC) Siliguri, in the presence of Pankaj Kumar, DIG, GC Siliguri and Kuldip Sarma, Co-Founder and Pro-Chancellor of MSU.

During the event, Sarma highlighted the timeliness of the collaboration, coinciding with the spirit of Independence Day. "MSU views defence forces as crucial partners in our mission to upskill India. We are committed to expanding educational avenues and improving employability for the families of our nation's heroes," said Sarma.

Radha emphasised the importance of the initiative, stating, "This partnership aligns with CWA's goals of offering enhanced educational, vocational, and technical training opportunities to the children and families of CRPF personnel. We must continue to support the families who sacrifice so much for our nation's security and well-being."

This collaboration marks a significant step towards providing meaningful opportunities for CRPF families, ensuring that their sacrifices are honoured with access to education and skill development pathways that can lead to brighter futures.
