The Army Recruiting Office, Jammu, has begun an Agniveer recruitment drive in Jammu on Friday.
In an official statement, PRO Defence Lt Col Devender Anand said, "The recruiting rally is being held for the aspiring youth from ten districts of the Jammu division of Jammu and Kashmir, namely Samba, Kathua, Jammu, Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar.”
Candidates in the Indian Army would be recruited as Agniveers under the Agnipath Scheme.
The recruitment rally was flagged off by the Zonal Recruiting Officer, Punjab and J&K, in the presence of the army, civil administration, J&K Police and health department officials.
Lt Col Anand extended his best wishes to all candidates and said, “Jammu division's aspiring youth have responded in an unprecedented way. The Indian Army has been working tirelessly in close collaboration with the civil authorities to ensure the success of this rally." “The civil administration has offered all available assistance to ensure that this rally runs smoothly and efficiently," he added.
The Army Recruiting Office in Jammu has recommended all aspirants provide all required certifications. "The applicants must bring their character certificates from the police and sarpanch, as well as their pictures suitably attested on the certificate, else their candidature will be disqualified," he said.
