Western Air Commander Reviews Security Scenario Along Northern Borders

Western Air Commander Air Marshal Pankaj Mohan Sinha visited forward areas on the northern borders on Saturday and praised the strong counter-infiltration grid along the Line of Control (LoC).

The Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief assured that the western command is vigilant for the aerial defence of sensitive areas in various parts of North and North-West India, according to a defence spokesman.

The Indian Air Force has kept almost all of its air bases at a “very high level of readiness” to deal with any situation involving China or Pakistan, the spokesman said.

He said, “Air Marshal Sinha was briefed on the current security situation and operational preparedness along the northern borders, and the air officer interacted with senior officers and deliberated on various defence-related issues.”

He also said that a collaborative approach will be the way forward to address the dynamic requirements of modern warfare.

He praised the Indian Army and Air Force for their efforts in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the spirit and motivation of troops deployed in active operations and praised all ranks for their unconditional and selfless service to the nation.

Air Marshal Sinha commended the Indian Army troops for securing borders and maintaining internal security in the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh.
