Using Nuclear Weapons By Russia Would Be Serious Mistake: Biden

US President Joe Biden has warned Russia that using nuclear weapons in Ukraine would be a grave mistake.

The Biden administration previously said that Russia had given the notice to conduct standard nuclear drills. While Ukraine's nuclear energy operator alleged that Russia was undertaking some secret work at Europe's largest nuclear power station.

Let me just say this Russia would be making a huge mistake if it uses a tactical nuclear bomb, Biden told reporters at the White House on Tuesday. He was answering a question about whether Russia was planning to use a dirty bomb or a nuclear weapon.

He further said, I can't ensure, it's a false-flag operation just yet, I don't know. But, it would be a grave error.

According to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, the President was explicit in what he said. Russia using nuclear weapons in Ukraine would be a huge blunder with serious implications. She said that Russia is spreading false charges regarding the probable deployment of a dirty bomb.

But, we must take this seriously because, in the past, she added that Russia used charges as a pretext to escalate.

However, Jean-Pierre also said that the US has not observed Russia make any preparations along such lines, but that it will continue to closely monitor the situation.

In response to a query on Russia-Ukraine peace talks, Jean-Pierre stated it was up to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to negotiate. He will make that decision for his country.
