TTP-Pak Clash: Blast In Khuzdar, Balochistan Results In At Least 13 Injuries

At least thirteen persons were injured on Monday in a powerful blast in Balochistan's Khuzdar city, according to Geo News.
According to police, the explosive device exploded on a two-way street near the Umar Farooq intersection in the city. The two people who were hurt are said to be in critical condition.
The area has been cordoned off by law enforcement and the injured have been transported to the Teaching Hospital, reported Geo News.
Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area to start an investigation as well as ascertain the intensity of the blast.
A day earlier, four police officers were killed and several others were injured in an overnight terrorist attack on the Bargai Police Station in the Lakki Marwat area, according to Geo News.
According to a foreign news agency, a terrorist attack was also launched on the Counter-Terrorism Department's (CTD) compound in Bannu, where the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan had taken control of a counter-terrorism facility in the country's northwest a day earlier.
The law and order situation in KP (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) has deteriorated in recent weeks, with an increase in threats and attacks on security forces as well as high-profile political figures, according to Geo News.
While talks between Pakistani officials and TTP leadership are underway in Afghanistan, the situation of law and order has worsened in KP, while in Balochistan Afghan border officials have targeted civilians in attack from across the Chaman border.
Following a terrorist attack on the Counter-Terrorism Department's (CTD) compound in Bannu, Pakistani officials and the leadership of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are holding talks in Afghanistan, confirmed Mohammad Ali Saif, spokesperson for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Monday, according to Geo News.
Pakistani authorities began talks to try to resolve a standoff with the TTP, which was holding several security personnel hostages a day earlier after seizing control of a counter-terrorism facility in the country's northwest.
“We are in talks with the top leaders of the Pakistani Taliban in Afghanistan,” Saif explained.
The spokesperson warned of strict action if the armed men do not surrender, reported Geo News.
The roads leading to and from the Bannu Cantonment are blocked, and internet services have been suspended in Bannu.
All traffic is prohibited on Jumma Khan Road and Miranshah Road. According to the sources, the terrorists want a secure air route to Afghanistan.
The police are reportedly on high alert throughout the province as a result of the recent uptick in attacks in places like Peshawar, the southern districts, and the Mardan region, according to a report from The News.
According to a source cited by the publication, “Senior politicians have also reported receiving threats in addition to the police. Some of them have also had grenade attacks on their homes.”
