Tejas Mark 2 To Outshine Among Global Competitors

Tejas Mark 2 (Mk2), an Indian single-engine, fighter aircraft, is likely to integrate all indigenous weapon systems, foreign armaments, and eight Beyond Visual Range Missiles (BVRMs).

The report suggests, no other fighter aircraft is developed like Tejas Mk2 for carrying eight BVR missiles simultaneously.

LCA Mk2 project director V Madhusudana Rao also claims the unique features of the fighter aircraft stand out among other jets manufactured by global firms and its features are likely to increase its export potential.

The single-engine aircraft is also estimated to enhance a wide range in comparison to the Mk1 when it comes to technology. 

According to media reports, Tejas Mark 2 will be equipped with standoff weapon systems, to make the fighter jet stand out from its competitors. The weaponry is also likely to include an air-to-ground, long-range deep strike missile, SCALP.

Meanwhile, amid the war-like crisis worldwide, the LCA Tejas Mk2 developments are taking place in a time period when Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is in the middle of negotiations scaling, LCA Tejas Mk-1A with numerous foreign nations.
