SBI Contributes Rs 2 Cr To Armed Forces Welfare Fund

State Bank of India (SBI) has contributed Rs 2 crore to the Armed Forces Battle Casualties Welfare Fund (AFBCWF), according to the statement.

The fund will be given to armed forces for the welfare of casualties during the battle and to support the personnel's dependents.

According to the bank, it has contributed the amount through the ‘Maa Bharati Ke Sapoot’ portal, a newly launched website by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

Earlier, the website was launched at a function organised at the National War Memorial Complex in New Delhi on Friday.

The AFBCWF is a Tri-Service fund, which is utilised to grant immediate financial assistance to the families of soldiers, sailors and airmen who lay down their lives or get grievously injured in active military operations.
