Russia Attacks German Embassy In Kyiv Hours After Putin's Meeting

Russian airstrikes hit the German Embassy in Kyiv on Monday, according to media reports.

However, the embassy had been vacant since the outbreak of the conflict. However, the German embassy's visa office was damaged.

Sergej Sumlenny, a journalist from Russia who now lives in Berlin, tweeted, "The building where the visa office of the German embassy in Kyiv was located was hit by Russians today. Any reaction of @Bundeskanzler @ABaerbock @BMVg_Bundeswehr? Maybe some Leopards can be sent to check the situation on the ground?"

The incident occurred soon after Germany condemned Russia's operations in Ukraine. Germany has been a strong supporter of Ukraine and a leading voice within the European Union in imposing economic sanctions on Russia in the aftermath of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Russia launched missile attacks across Ukraine early Monday. The bombardment appeared to be revenge for an attack that damaged a critical Crimean bridge that is the only bridge to connect Russia to the Crimean Peninsula.

At least five people were killed in Kyiv in strikes that started attacking the capital city after months. Strikes on the city were carried out just after a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin's security council.
