Rajnath Singh Reaches Japan To Participate In 2+2 Dialogue

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh along with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will participate in a two-plus-two ministerial dialogue in Tokyo on Thursday.

It is the second edition of the India-Japan two-plus-two ministerial dialogue. The Japanese side will be represented by Minister of Defence Yasukazu Hamada and Minister of Foreign Affairs Yoshimasa Hayashi.

Apart from the dialogue, Defence Minister will hold a bilateral talk with the Japanese counterpart. The meeting will further strengthen defence cooperation between the two countries across various sectors, according to the official statement. 

The dialogue will also review the bilateral cooperation across all domains and key issues including the situation of the Indo-Pacific region. 

India and Japan is a strategic partner and cooperates on many projects all over the world. This year, both countries are also celebrating 70 years of their diplomatic relationship. 

Later, Rajnath Singh will meet the Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida and attend a community event organised by the Embassy of India in Tokyo to interact with the Indian diaspora in Japan.
