Pak Army Chief Bajwa Kicks Off Farewell Visits

According to media reports, Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has begun his farewell visits from the Sialkot and Mangla garrisons.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said that Gen Bajwa visited the Sialkot and Mangla garrisons as part of his farewell visits to various formations.

According to the ISPR, the army chief met with officers and soldiers at both locations and addressed the troops.

Bajwa appreciated the formations for their excellent performance during various operations, training and natural calamities.

During the visit, the army chief encouraged troops to continue serving the country with the same zeal and commitment regardless of the circumstances.

According to ARY News, when he arrived in Sialkot, he was greeted by Lt General Muhammad Aamer and Lt General Ayman Bilal Safdar at the Mangla garrison.

General Bajwa previously said that he will not accept an extension and will retire after five weeks.

According to sources, he also said that the army will not be involved in politics.
