Amid the war between Russia and Ukraine, Russian military general Valeriy Zaluzhny said that the use of nuclear weapons would take us to the brink of World War III.
The general's warning comes when the Russian army is thwarted to achieve any remarkable success in the ongoing war and also faces a shortage of weapons and troops.
Earlier, Putin also threatened of using nuclear bombs. But, many say that Putin is habitual of his nuclear sabres when things start looking grim for him.
Russia has not been able to defeat Ukraine yet and was even compelled to retreat from Kyiv due to stiff resistance.
However, the Ukrainian general said that their forces had retaken its territory of 270 square miles to the east and south and warned that the war is likely to last for several months.
Meanwhile, Europe's largest nuclear power plant in the grip of war is operating in an emergency due to the high risk. Ukraine's state nuclear power operator said on Friday.
The six-reactor Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant came under Russian military control at the start of the war that began in February but is still being operated by Ukrainian crews.
The plant and surrounding areas have been repeatedly shelled, and Russia and Ukraine have blamed each other's military for this from time to time.
