Japan will host the 2022 edition of the Malabar Naval Exercise in the second week of November, in which India, Australia, Japan and the United States will participate, according to Japan officials.
Whereas, the Indian Navy will also take part in the International Fleet Review (IFR) being held in the first week of November to honour the 70th anniversary of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF).
India and the US will hold a joint military exercise called "Yudh Abhyas" in the high-altitude of Uttarakhand near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) at the end of October.
The initial and final Malabar planning conferences have been concluded and the drill is to take place from 8 to 18 November, according to another official. However, the Indian Navy has not yet confirmed its ships that will participate, but two frontline warships and a P-8I Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) are likely to be sent.
Australia is also willing to host the exercise, but the partner countries have not yet agreed. Australia became a regular member of Exercise Malabar in 2020.
