Govt Building ‘New India’ To Give Sense Of Security To Friendly Nations: Singh

India will achieve the target of defence exports of Rs 35,000 crore by 2025 and Rs 2.7 lakh crore by 2047, said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

He felicitated the families of the martyrs from Himachal Pradesh on Monday in Kangra district. He is on a one-day visit to Himachal Pradesh.

Singh said that India is the only country which has given the message of peace to the whole world and never attacked any country.

He further said, when we were dealing with the Covid pandemic, we had to face the tension on the northern border with China and that proved that India will never bow down.

He also talked about the Uri and Pulwama terrorist attacks, followed by the 2016 surgical strikes and the 2019 Balakot airstrikes.

"The formation of the chief of defence staff post and the setting up of the Department of Military Affairs are some of the significant reforms to bolster national security and also the government is building a ‘New India’ which will give a sense of security and trust to all our peace-loving friendly countries and those with evil intentions will get nothing but dust," he said.

He termed Himachal Pradesh a strategically important state for India.

He further said that the border infrastructure, as well as the intelligence and communication capabilities, have been improved and also hundreds of km of roads, bridges and tunnels have been constructed in the border areas.
