China Refuses To Comment On Possible Modi And Jinping Meeting

China has refused to comment on the possible meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sideline of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

The SCO summit is to be held in Samarkand from 15 to 16 September in Uzbekistan.

The possibility of meeting two leaders increased after India and China accepted that troops would be leaving Patrolling Point (PP)-15 in the Gogra-Hotsprings region of eastern Ladakh.

India and China are significant SCO participants. Both agree that Uzbekistan should be the summit's rotating chair in 2022. SCO has eight nations as members including  China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India, and Pakistan. Some nations are observers in SCO and its headquarter is in Beijing.

Whereas, Russian President Putin has confirmed that he will be meeting the Chinese President on the sidelines of the SCO summit.
