CDS Gen Chauhan Visits Frontlines In J&K, Reviews Security & Operational Preparedness

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Anil Chauhan visited forward posts in the Rajouri sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, accompanied by White Knight Corps Commander, Lt Gen Manjinder Singh.

Gen Anil Chauhan celebrated Diwali with soldiers, laid a wreath at Naman Sthal, the war memorial of Naushera Sector, and paid his respects to the martyred.

He was briefed by field commanders on the current operational situation and security scenario along the Line of Control (LoC) and reviewed the development of defence infrastructure and operational preparedness undertaken in challenging terrain and weather conditions.

The CDS, while addressing the troops, exhorted them to carry forward the rich tradition of courage and valour of the Indian Army. He also emphasised the need for operational preparedness of the highest order.

Apart from CDS, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari visited LoC. The IAF tweets, Celebrating Diwali this year with the IAF and Indian Army troops deployed at forward areas along the line of control, CAS distributed sweets & conveyed his greetings to the deployed personnel.

The Army chief, General Manoj Pande spent Diwali with soldiers along the international border in Sikkim. Army said in a tweet, General Manoj Pande visited forward areas along the Northern Borders in Sikkim and reviewed operational preparedness. He was briefed on the security situation and progress in infrastructure development by the Commanders on the ground.
