Army Ready To Deal With Any Challenges: Lt Gen Kalita

The Army was fully prepared to deal with any situation on the northern, western or eastern fronts and protect the country's territorial integrity, Lt Gen Rana Pratap Kalita, commander of the Eastern Army, said on Sunday.

Kalita was in Guwahati for the Purvottar Swabhiman Utsav, which honours northeast India's contribution to nation-building.

When questioned about reports of the alleged Chinese intrusion, Kalita told reporters, “It is no longer 1962, it is 2022. The country has made significant progress in all areas, whether military, economic or foreign affairs… India is fully prepared to face any challenge or emerging situation and will defend the country's territorial integrity at all costs.”

Apart from four districts in upper Assam, the insurgency situation is completely under control. According to Kalita, he called the recent attack on an Army vehicle in the Tinsukia district an outlier.
