Armed Forces Capable To Give Befitting Reply To Power Having Evil Intention: Singh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that the Indian army is capable of responding appropriately to those who have bad intentions toward the nation on Saturday.

Singh was speaking during a gathering to celebrate the publication of a five-volume book on Deendayal Upadhyay.

Deendayal Upadhyay was the first to advocate for India to perform its nuclear test after China conducted its initial nuclear test in 1964, according to Singh.

Under the direction of the then-prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, India conducted its first nuclear tests in Rajasthan in 1998.

He said, “The goal was to maintain a deterrent rather than utilise the weapon against any specific nation and today, the Indian Army has complete confidence in its ability to defend itself because of such a deterrent. When the Indian Army confronts China in 2022, it does so on an equal basis.”

He also claimed that the nation aims to sell defence products to other countries and we are making quick progress towards realising Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay's hopes and aspirations.

According to him, the Defence Ministry had released three "positive indigenisation lists" containing 310 defence products that will never again be purchased from outside India. All of that will be produced in India.
