Always Ready To Face Any Border Challenge: Northern Commander

Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi said on Thursday that the Army is always ready to face any challenge and will go to any length to ensure the integrity of national borders.
The Army said in a statement that he was speaking at the northern command investiture ceremony, which was held at the Mathura military station with military precision and detail.
The event was presided over by the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, and 66 awardees were said to have received gallantry and distinguished service awards.
According to the statement, this included 49 Sena Medals (Gallantry), one Bar to Sena Medal (Gallantry), one Yudh Seva Medal, four Sena Medals for Distinguished Service, ten Vishisht Seva Medals and one Bar to Vishisht Seva Medal.
According to the Army, 33 officers, three junior commissioned officers and 29 other ranks were recognised and awarded for various acts of valour and distinguished services.
His father received one Sena Medal (Gallantry) for rifleman Hussain Khan, who is in a coma after being injured in an operation.
Lt Gen Dwivedi congratulated all awardees on their outstanding bravery and dedication to duty and urged everyone in attendance to emulate their accomplishments.
He also emphasised the challenging border conditions. He reiterated that the Indian Army was always ready to meet any challenge and go to any length to ensure a peaceful internal security situation and the integrity of the national borders.
