The United States Department of Defence announced that RTX has been awarded a contract for the Low Rate Initial Production of LTAMDS air defence radars, part of which will be supplied to the Polish Armed Forces.
According to the US Department of Defence, the contract is valued at over two billion dollars, with LTAMDS radars expected to be delivered by the end of November 2028.
The Polish Ministry of National Defence has decided to purchase LTAMDS radars manufactured by Raytheon as part of the Wisla program, which aims to equip the Polish Armed Forces with the PATRIOT air and missile defence system.
In September 2023, Poland signed three contracts with the US government to acquire a package of PAC-3 MSE interceptors, 48 M903 launchers, and 12 LTAMDS radars. These contracts together are valued at USD 9.3 billion, with deliveries scheduled to be completed in 2029.
Notably, in 2023, Poland signed a contract with the United States for the first phase of the Wisla program. This USD 4.6 billion contract covers the delivery of 16 M903 launchers, four AN/MPQ-65 radars, 208 PAC-3 MSE interceptors, and other elements of the PATRIOT air defence system.
Additionally, in February 2024, the Polish Ministry of National Defence signed a USD 2.5 billion contract for the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS), with deliveries scheduled from 2024 to 2031. The Polish Armed Forces intend to use the IBCS system to build an integrated, multi-layered air and missile defence system.
